Competitions

All competition events are depended on the support and availability of volunteers and may be subject to cancellation.


Eligibility:

Non-members are welcome to participate in "Open" competitions. Just turn up on the day and book in. Ensure you arrive before registration ends. Members are welcome to enter any (or all) of competitions listed.


Entry Fees:

All competitions are £5 for adults and seniors (a) boat Competitions (2 people) is £30 for boat (including engine), (b) Four Man Team Competition is £20 per team, all other competitions.  Juniors compete free except for the open competition (£1).


Prizes:

Unless specified, prizes are for 1st, 2nd, 3rd with medals/badges and championship points and 4th prize of championship bonus point. Championship points from all the 6 "All legal methods" competitions* will contribute towards deciding the winner of the Club Championship Shield.


All members competing in the “Boat Competition” are asked to put down their own dates and pay fees on registration, also would members please PRINT THEIR NAMES CLEARLY when entering the “Boat Competition” Last date for registering is the 17th May.

(Normally, for families and friends sponsoring a competition the fee is £50 for adult competitions, £70 for combined adult and junior competitions.)

Competition Rules: 


1.      All competitors must register at the Clubhouse.

2.      No fishing before start times.

3.      A maximum of 30 minutes is permitted to register after the stated starting time, and a maximum of 5 minutes are permitted to weigh in fish after the stated weigh in time. Late entries may be accepted under extraordinary circumstances at the discretion of the competition convenor / committee.

4.      Note: Competition Committee will take into account anglers travelling by bus/train to register. These anglers must inform the committee prior to the competition & may be exempt from registering.

5.      Competitors must weigh in their own fish at the stated time i.e., 4pm or when a 4 fish limit is reached (day competitions) and midnight or when a 4 fish limit is reached (night competitions)

6.      Competitors must register personally unless a valid reason is given for them not to (at the discretion of the competition convenor / committee.)

7.      Competitors must not go out-with the perimeter of the loch during a competition. However, transport from one position of the loch to another is permitted. (Woodside members only)

8.      All anglers entering any competition must abide by the stated legal method for that particular competition i.e. for an angler to gain maximum points throughout the season he or she must be prepared to adapt for the competition specifications (either fly or bait).

When no trout have been caught during a competition an alternative date may be set. (At the discretion of the competition convenor / committee.)

9.      The heaviest trout award will go to the angler who has caught the heaviest trout during an adult or junior championship league competition. Fish caught in any other competition or out-with competition do not qualify.

10.   The entry fee for adult competitions is £5.00. The fee for Juniors is free (except for the open competition where the fee is £1).

 First 4 fish must be taken, competitors cannot return fish in any competition unless under 12” in size or disqualification will result.

11.   The competition convenor/ committee reserve the right to alter the above rules in exceptional cases.

12.   Cheating or breaking the above rules will not be tolerated and any offender will, be disqualified from the competition, loose points from the championship. Cheating may jeopardise club membership entitlement. In cases where anglers are fishing as part of a team all parties may be held responsible for the actions of fishing partners.

13.   Anglers who weigh their fish in and are not present at the presentation will lose their position in that competition Unless a valid reason is given to the Competition Committee

14. There are no refunds on competition fees.
